El Encanto is one of Punta Mita’s elevated communities, set back from the water with wide views over the golf course and out to the ocean. It is a mix of condos and villas, and an accessible way into Punta Mita for families and smaller groups who want the views and resort access without a beachfront-estate price. This guide covers the area and the homes we rent there.

Where is El Encanto?

El Encanto sits on higher ground within the gated Punta Mita resort, overlooking the golf course and Banderas Bay toward the Marietas Islands. The elevation is the draw: wide, breezy views and sunsets from most terraces. It is a short golf-cart ride to the beach clubs and to the resort’s golf, tennis and gym.

The villas and condos

El Encanto is mostly ocean-view, with a couple of higher oceanfront condos (units 821 and 1021) and golf-course outlooks. Our homes here run three to five bedrooms and host six to twelve guests — condos with private or plunge pools, plus a few larger villas. It suits families and couples travelling together.

Beach and resort access

El Encanto is elevated rather than beachfront, so guests reach the coast through Punta Mita’s beach clubs, with golf, tennis and gym available through the resort membership (usage fees apply). A couple of the higher condos have oceanfront outlooks; the rest look over the golf course and bay.
